- J&J will pay $8.9 billion into a talc trust to compensate claims of gynecologic cancer and mesothelioma.
- At least 75% of the claimants must approve the agreement and there are 38,000 lawsuits affected.
San Antonio attorney Mikal Watts of Watts Guerra and Talc Powder Justice reached final negotiations on a proposed private settlement with Johnson & Johnson to resolve all talc claims.
Approval of the settlement is unclear at this point since some law firms representing claimants are expressing opposition.
