Owner of Glasser Images files for bankruptcy – InForum

FARGO – The owner of the now defunct Glasser Images has filed for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy protection.

North Dakota Attorney General Drew Wrigley said Jack Glasser scammed more than 500 brides and grooms to live a lifestyle of luxury.

Glasser’s attorney says that’s the furthest from the truth, that Covid just simply ruined the business.

Marissa Tyre is still getting used to wearing that big rock on her finger. She got married just two weeks ago.

She said it was the perfect wedding day.

“It was such a great experience and great day that I wish would have lasted longer,” said Tyre.

Getting to wedding day though was anything but picture perfect.

Tyre originally hired Glasser Images for pictures and videos.

However, she’s now out $4,200 after Glasser closed its doors last Fall.

“I knew it was coming, I surprised it took this long,” she said.

“For the people who are still owed money, is there any chance they may get any money back?” WDAY Reporter Matt Henson asked Tim O’Keeffe, the lawyer who is defending Glasser in a civil suit filed by North Dakota Attorney General Drew Wrigley.

“Unfortunately, I don’t see that happening,” O’Keefe replied.

Jeffrey Clark, a former Justice Department attorney at the center of former President Trump’s attempt to overturn the 2020 election results, was hit Friday with ethics charges alleging that his role in the post-election effort amounted to a breach of legal ethics.

The charges, filed by the District of Columbia Bar Office of Disciplinary Counsel, sets in motion disciplinary proceedings over allegations that Clark engaged in dishonest conduct and sought to interfere with the administration of justice and will culminate in findings that could affect Clark’s D.C. law license.

Clark, who specialized in environmental law at the Justice Department, clark-draft-letter.html”attempted to send a letter to Georgia officials pushing the state to suspend certification of its 2020 election results until the Justice Department investigated fraud claims, despite agency leaders saying such claims were without merit.

After former Attorney General William Barr resigned in December 2020, Clark pushed Trump to nominate him to lead the Justice Department and pursue the president’s false election claims.

Clark said that if selected as acting attorney general he would send the letter to state legislatures, despite warnings from fellow Justice Department lawyers about incorrect information.

Murdaugh family saga: A timeline of death, alleged embezzlement and an insurance scam

But now, the family has been closely connected to a bloody tragedy, allegations of embezzlement and a bizarre murder-for-hire plot to score millions in life insurance.

The latest blow to the family’s name came this week as Alex Murdaugh was indicted on a charge of murder for the 2021 killings of his wife and son.

So what were the twists and turns that led to this point? Here’s a timeline of everything we know about the Murdaugh family saga:

Over three generations, a member of the Murdaugh family has served as the 14th Circuit Solicitor, which leads prosecutions for Allendale, Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton and Jasper counties in the southern part of South Carolina.

Randolph Murdaugh Sr. was elected to the 14th Circuit Solicitor’s Office in 1920 and served in the position until his death in 1940.

His son, Randolph Murdaugh Jr., then took over the position and served until his retirement in 1986.

Murdaugh Jr.’s son, Randolph Murdaugh III, was then elected to the role in 1987 and served through the end of 2005. Alex Murdaugh is his son.

In 2006, then-Gov. Mark Sanford appoints attorney Duffie Stone to serve as the 14th Circuit Solicitor, making him the first non-Murdaugh

  • About 50 New York law firms have expressed an interest in staffing a new hotline
  • The initiative is being spearheaded by New York Attorney General Leticia James

(Reuters) – A new hotline staffed by volunteer lawyers in New York is fielding a stream of inquiries from reproductive healthcare providers in the state worried about how the end of nationwide abortion rights protections could affect their operations, organizers said this week.

“Unfortunately, what we have received is what we expected,” said Claudia Hammerman, a partner at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, which is coordinating law firm participation in the effort.

The New York hotline is the centerpiece of a month-old abortion rights initiative spearheaded by state Attorney General Letitia James in conjunction with law firms and reproductive rights organizations responding to the U.S. Supreme court last month overturning the constitutional right to abortion.
