A local design and contracting firm that is being sued for allegedly botching its work on an apartment building in LoHi has filed for bankruptcy.

Cline Design Group, of Littleton, was founded 25 years ago by owner Jeff Cline and has hundreds of projects under its belt across the metro area and in the mountains, it said.

The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Dec. 8 because it has less than $500,000 in assets but owes as much as $1.1 million to banks, suppliers and governments.

Most of that debt is disputed, however. Cline Design doesn’t believe that it owes $800,000 for its work in Highlands and, in fact, claims it is the company that is owed money.

In August 2021, Cline Design was hired as the general contractor for a 13-unit apartment project at 3327 Tejon St. developed by Scott Riopelle, owner of Interstate Roofing in Denver. In a lawsuit filed Sept. 7, Riopelle lists dozens of mistakes that he says Cline Design made.

Months went by without work; there was no on-site management; flooring was installed too early and

A hearing in the case had been scheduled for Monday morning on a request from the dancers’ lawyer to have a $200,000 judgment in the case taken from a land use settlement between the town of Stratford and Gus Curcio, a resident convicted of extortion in the 1980s who is also linked to the club.

Krayeske would not discuss the specifics of the agreement Monday.

“The matter is settled,” he said, declining further comment.

The settlement comes a month after a bankruptcy trustee in the case of Joseph Regensburger, a Fairfield man who was once president of the club, said he could not find any assets to satisfy the dancers’ claims, even though a Department of Justice lawyer has alleged the bankruptcy was a ruse designed to hide assets.

The bankruptcy hearing had seemed to have left the former exotic dancers who sued the club in 2015 alleging wage theft years away from seeing a dime of

Florida man wrongfully convicted of murder is freed by an attorney fresh out of law school

Florida man wrongfully convicted of murder is freed by an attorney fresh out of law school

“Who remembers where they were on a given night five months ago?” Figgers said.

“I never asked anybody to believe what I was saying,” James said. “What I did was say for any and everybody to simply admit that if what I was saying was true, that I had been wrongly convicted. But the only way you can reach that conclusion is to delve into the depths of my situation. Natlie Figgers did. I owe her my life.”

Figgers, the wife of Freddie Figgers, an inventor and founder of Figgers Communication in Florida, where she had been head of HR, said releasing her emotions helped break the case, especially when in May 2021 she approached Dorothy Wilson, the prosecution’s crucial witness.

“She didn’t want to give any statements,” Figgers said of Wilson. “She didn’t want to talk to people for years. When I went to interview her, she cracked the door open. I knew at that time she was giving me an opportunity to show her why she should do the right thing. It was such an emotional point for me, I couldn’t help but cry to her. And I told her, ‘If God tells you to give me

Details On Tammy Sytch’s Lawyer Trying To Withdraw As Legal Counsel

Tammy Sytch currently awaits trial on charges of DUI manslaughter. So what’s the latest on the case? Sytch’s lawyer is now attempting to get himself as far away from the case as possible.

As reported by sytch-attorney-seeks-to-withdraw-from-her-dui-manslaughter-case.html?p=1″PWInsider early Monday morning, Sytch’s lawyer, Steven deLaroche, has filed a motion requesting he be allowed to withdraw himself from being Sytch’s legal counsel going forward. The motion was filed last Thursday, June 16, just days after Sytch filed a motion to dismiss the civil suit against her related to her DUI Manslaughter case.

In his motion, deLarcoche cited several reasons for his request to be withdrawn. Chief among them was an impasse between him and Sytch regarding the handling of Sytch’s case, one that deLaroche noted made it impossible for them to continue to work together cooperatively.

deLaroche also claimed that Sytch had not complied with the terms of the employment agreement between them, and noted Sytch would not be prejudiced against if he was permitted to withdraw. As of this writing, no ruling has been made regarding deLaroche’s motion to withdraw.

Sytch was arrested in May on one count of DUI manslaughter, one count of causing death while operating
